CM @ River's Edge Cafe 7-24-09
WOW! What a fun night. And we almost made it through the show before the rain came.
Friday night Cruisemachine played on the deck behind the River's Edge Cafe in Aurora
(http://www.theriversedgecafe.com/). Great turnout with lots of friends who have faithfully supported the band along with several 'new' fans experiencing their first CM show.
As I said earlier, we almost made it through the entire set.....but it started to rain...just a little....then a little more. And then there was the lightning! So we finished the song we were playing, 'Let's Work Together', and that's exactly what happened. Several of the folks that had come out to see us all came up and started moving all the gear inside. It was GREAT! What a blessing to have all that help. Everything was moved inside in a matter of only a few minutes. Thanks to everyone for your help!

Yes, it was a fun night.
It was great to see so many of our friends and family there.
The light show we watched happening in the sky was pretty cool too...until it got close enough to prompt a move to safer quarters, inside the cafe.
I'm glad the storm took it's time getting to us. We had plenty of time to play a few more songs while it sprinkled lightly upon us, and with the help of everyone, get the equipment inside before getting really soaked.
I guess for that night, we became the "Soggy Bottom Machine" (movie reference).
Sorry, that was pretty lame. I'll try harder next time.

That was a great time. It's cool to see CM in a setting like that, you guys played great. Like you said - lots of good friends, excellent coffee and food from Jeff & Cathy & crew at RE... lookin' forward to next time!
