New Direction for the Latest Happenings

As you may have noticed, there hasn't been any activity on the CruiseMachine blog for some time.

I (Scott) am hoping to write more about interesting things going on with the band and each of it's members...but until that time, I suggest you head over to facebook and look us up there.

Facebook is a much easier way of sharing with you all the things we've been up to, recent and upcoming shows, etc.  And it's much, MUCH better for getting feedback from each of you!

We really do appreciate each and every one of you and look forward to hearing from you. Good, bad, or otherwise...send us a shout-out, constructive critizism, creative ideas, your thoughts on life, anything. We love hearing from you!

I'm not planning on getting rid of the blog...well, that might depend on what research shows regarding how many, if any, are actually reading it. Hmmm...

What do you think? Send me a note, response, email, whatever...just get ahold of me and let me know what you think.

Till next time,

SG

CruiseMachine had a rockin good time at Two Fools Saturday night. They were so excited about having us back, they actually bussed people in...two busses even!
Seriously. They came in by bus load! (Although I don't really think CM was the reason.)
Even so, we were happy they came out to Two Fools...and judging by the dance floor, the smiles, the singing along and the high fives at the start and end of of songs, I'd say they were quite pleased as well.
Without any prompting, the owner again voiced his committment to book us throughout the year and will work to get us included in at least one festival!
It was a good night all around.
Apologies we don't have photos of this one. Next time for sure.
Tonight is band practice and this Friday night we're in Yorkville at the Kendall Pub.
See you soon.

CM @ River's Edge Cafe 7-24-09

WOW! What a fun night. And we almost made it through the show before the rain came.
Friday night Cruisemachine played on the deck behind the River's Edge Cafe in Aurora
(http://www.theriversedgecafe.com/). Great turnout with lots of friends who have faithfully supported the band along with several 'new' fans experiencing their first CM show.

As I said earlier, we almost made it through the entire set.....but it started to rain...just a little....then a little more. And then there was the lightning! So we finished the song we were playing, 'Let's Work Together', and that's exactly what happened. Several of the folks that had come out to see us all came up and started moving all the gear inside. It was GREAT! What a blessing to have all that help. Everything was moved inside in a matter of only a few minutes. Thanks to everyone for your help!

Some of the friends that were there. A special thanks to Lucie, Kim, Mary, Dennis, Kim and Randy......you guys ROCK!!!!
Also, a big thanks to Jeff & Cathy for having us. The River's Edge Cafe has great sandwiches along with lots of other yummy stuff. Check out their menu at theriversedgecafe.com.

Midwest Community Center - LaSalle, IL

Hey! Look who's back....it's the CruiseMachine CruiseNews blog!

Yeah, we've been pretty quiet for a long time...but we're about to kick into high gear!

Have you seen the CruiseMachine calendar lately?!?

Well, since we're playing all these new venues, I figured this would be a mighty fine place to let you all know how the shows went, the kind of crowd that was there, and all the other details you might want to know about these places and events.

The last show we did was way, way out in LaSalle, IL. Right close to Starved Rock actually.

Quite the road trip this was...and on a Friday night no less.

I gotta tell ya, the Midwest Community Center is one of the coolest little hide-away places! The dining room is way cool with groovy antique furniture and nick-knacks, a zebra hide on one wall, a very cool wood engraved ceiling, and a very nice 'bar' where you could get all kinds of non-alcoholic beverages.

They were serving up bar-b-que ribs the night we were there (a different entree is featured each Friday evening).

Right next door is a ten lane bowling alley. What a hoot! I wanted to get setup in time to bowl a game...oh well. Maybe next time. My son David (who also ran lights for us that night) was sure to get in more than his share of bowling! It's something us 'guys' do every so often on Sunday nights, you know, to bond.

Anyway, there was a birthday party in the bowling alley so the youngsters hung out over there. The crowd we played to was a bit older...well, I guess not so much compared to us...it was a good crowd. :-)

And we were very well received! They had an offering can up on the bar for anyone that wanted to give a little something to the band...and they were quite generous.

They also bought up the V8 CD's like I've never seen before!

Yep, it was a real blessing playing for the fine folks at the Midwest Community Center.

Stay tuned for more reviews coming soon.
